I love cruising. Years ago I found MY inner pirate and have enjoyed being at sea ever since! There is something about the sea air that brings out the best in me, maybe it will for you too. I used to sail in regattas years ago, but since then I enjoy sailing for pleasure. The wind in the sails is magical and romantic. I enjoy riding horses on as many cruise vacations that offer such an excursion; it truly is a completely different view of a destination, whether in the gorgeous mountains of Moorea, French Polynesia, on the beach on Cabo San Lucas, Mexico or in Alaska. With my prince charming (AKA my husband Jake) we enjoy sunsets on the deck of a ship, having cocktails in intimate lounges and going for a couple’s treatments at the ships spa. We also enjoy the social aspect of cruising; and we stay in touch with at least one person from each cruise we have been on. (20+ cruises). Sailing aboard a ship is not always the best way to see a destination, but when it is, it’s perfect! For countries whose cultures are intimately connected with waterways, there’s no more exciting or dramatic way to explore than from the sea. I am a firm believer you get what you pay for, and I truly believe most of the rates for the very best products are in line when compared to what you get on other lines, especially when you take into account: gratuities, no charges for alternative dining, free alcohol, and courtesy transportation to the nearest city on a shore excursion. No extra charges for dinner on your balcony, learning to play bridge, or taking an art class. For single women it can be wonderful with male hosts available for dancing.
