Luxury Expedition Cruising on Silversea's Prince Albert II
In 2008 Silversea branched out to embrace luxury expedition cruising with the 132-passenger 1A ice-rated vessel, HSH Prince Albert II.
With a variety of itineraries from the Arctic to Antarctic, guests can now enjoy a new era in expedition-class cruising around the world with Silversea's signature all-inclusive amenities, including butler service.
A multi-million dollar investment has been made to upgrade the vessel, previously the World Discoverer.
Onboard Prince Albert II
Prince Albert II carries a maximum of 66 oceanview staterooms accommodating up to 132 guests. The vessel boasts the largest average size accommodations of any expedition cruise ship, with private marble bathrooms with bathtubs. Staterooms and suites range in size from 180 to over 600 square feet and feature flat screen monitors offering interactive TV and video options.
The Prince Albert II will feature single-seating dining, a library, with computers and internet access, boutique, beauty salon, fitness center, full-service spa and two Jacuzzi pools.
Luxury Expedition Cruising?
With the Prince Albert II, Silversea has combined the best of luxury cruising's comforts and fine dining, with true expedition itineraries and the activities to go with, including excursions by Zodiac craft.
Each cruise features a team of expedition leaders, including historians, biologists and geologists, who provide a very different experience from a traditional cruise, where learning, discovery and enrichment prevail.
A focus on destinations will include lesser-traveled regions, such as in the South Pacific which will include the southernmost Austral Islands, the Tuamotu Archipelago, and the northernmost Marquesas Islands. Itineraries are unstructured by design, allowing for flexibility to account for weather or nature.
