This is the 6-night pre-cruise land tour deep into Middle earth for the Ringer who just can’t take too much time away from home. The tour mostly visits the Rohan sites, hence the name. This package will allow you the chance to get to travel with fellow Ringers, see some beautiful countryside and sample some of New Zealand’s famous action-oriented outdoor activities. Your entire Journey will be commemorated in an Exclusive ‘Passport to Middle earth’.
6 NIGHTS NORTH AND SOUTH ISLANDS
November 17: On arrival in Auckland you will be transferred by coach to your hotel- The Spencer on Byron. A welcome dinner this evening and breakfast tomorrow included. (D)
November 18: You are transferred to the airport for your 10:00am flight to Queenstown. Your coach will deliver you to your hotel- the Novotel Gardens, home for the next 3 nights. This afternoon you may wish to take a 4-wheel drive tour with Nomad Safaris to Amon Hen, Ithilien and Lothlorien. (B)
November 19: This morning we will board our coach for a journey to Poolburn and spectacular scenery. This is where:
*The Rohan village was burned;
*Pippin dropped the Elven brooch;
* Our three heroes met the Rohirrim.
After lunch in Alexandra we will return to Queenstown via Mrs. Jones' Fruit Stall. The rest of the afternoon is free. (B)
November 20: A day for optional extras:
* Kelvin Heights Deer Park which has 7 LOTR locations;
* Dart Stables Horse trekking through Lothlorien country;
* A helicopter flight with Heliworks to the Ford of Bruinen;
* A jet boat ride on the Shotover River- pure adrenalin!!

November 21: We board our 10:20 flight to Wellington via Christchurch. Upon arrival we will take a coach tour past the film studios en route to The Chocolate Fish Cafe (a favorite haunt of the stars) for a late lunch. Later we will visit the 'Get off the road'' site before checking in at the Duxton Hotel, home for the next 2 nights. Tonight we suggest dinner at The Green Parrot Restaurant- a favorite of Viggo's. (B)
November 22: Today we will begin with a visit to Stansborough Fibres- makers of the Elven Cloak fabric. We will then make brief stops at the
sites of Helms Deep and Isengard Gardens, en route to Fernside. This is where they filmed the 'leaving Lothlorien scene, and the fishing/strangulation scenes with Smeagol and Deagol. After lunch we will return to Wellington. This evening we will have dinner and a special session with Daniel Reeve, calligrapher and map maker for LOTR. (B,D)
November 23: We are transferred to the airport for our 11 a.m. flight to Auckland. Time for you to board your cruise ship. (B)
