Star Clippers offers an authentic, low-key and casual sailing experience. More moderately priced than deluxe Windstar, Star Clippers offers a more genuine sailing experience, though engines are used as needed.
Star Clippers' Royal Clipper is the flagship of the fleet. Royal Clipper is the largest full-rigged sailing ship in the world -- the ultimate mega sailing yacht. With 42 sails and 56,000 square feet of sail, with three swimming pools, a marina the lowers from the stern for water sports, and a unique underwater viewing lounge. Royal Clipper accommodates up to 227 passengers.
Star Clippers' other yachts, Star Clipper and Star Flyer are smaller brethren that carry up to 170 guests. They are the tallest of the tall ships, with 36,000 square feet of sail.
There are no casinos or stage shows, and a piano bar in the evening may be the highlight of onboard entertainment. But passengers can take part in hoisting the sails if they wish, and Star Clippers offers a larger version of what a private yacht charter experience is like.
Star Clippers has expanded the destinations it serves, featuring the Caribbean, French and Italian Rivieras, Italy and Sicily, Croatia and French Polynesia.
