Dining on Princess Cruises
Princess also purveyed "Personal Choice Dining," which provides guests a choice to dine on the traditional fixed seating schedule or at their leisure. With fixed seating, each evening you dine at the same time and at the same table, so your wait staff get to know you and your preferences. Otherwise, you can dine in an "open-seating" dining room anytime you wish during dining hours, and you can make reservations at a different time each day.
Princess features modern classical cuisine prepared from scratch. Vegetables are chopped fresh, breads are baked three times daily, even the hamburgers poolside are made onboard from prime beef and cooked to order.
A new innovation is The Chef's Table. For a charge, up to 12 passengers can enjoy an up-close look at a busy ship's galley that serves up to 3,000 dinners per night. (Most galley tours on cruise ships take place between meals, not during.) Guests enjoy specially prepared appetizers, followed by a multicourse tasting menu at the executive chef's VIP table.
Sabatini's is a Princess tradition - a special evening featuring a plethora of courses of Italian specialties. Crown Grill is an alternative dining venue featuring fine steaks.
Onboard Enrichment & Entertainment
On a Princess cruise travelers can indulge in an array of engaging ScholarShip @ Sea opportunities. Each Princess cruise offers up to 40 classes onboard: from learning new skills in digital photography or computer use, to ceramics painting, culinary arts courses, wine tasting, and scrapbooking. In addition, Princess features guest lecturers who give talks on a variety of topics.
For the curious, Princess is introducing a fascinating “Ultimate Ship Tour,” an up-close look at what goes on behind the scenes in running a cruise ship, including backstage of the ship's theatre, the restaurant galleys and food storage rooms, and the engine control areas.

Princess Youth and Teen Programs provide state-of-the-art youth center facilities and an array of activities to keep kids and teens entertained. Young passengers enjoy a wide range of fun events for ages 3 to 17, supervised by a dedicated staff of youth activity professionals. The program offers three distinct, age-specific programs – Princess Pelicans (ages 3-7), Shockwaves (ages 8-12) and Remix (ages 13-17). Each group features an age-appropriate schedule, often with separate facilities.
The program includes a number of special features, including Science on the Seas activities from the award-winning California Science Center, Yoga for Kids, and a Jr. CHEF@Sea program. Princess Cruises has also teamed with Klutz®, an innovative publisher of award-winning activity books for children, to provide high-quality arts and crafts projects for young passengers and their families while onboard.

What About Privacy For Adults
With many families with children cruising the world, cruise lines have realized the need to create more private areas for adults. Princess Cruises is introducing the Sanctuary on select ships, an adults-only, quiet retreat populated with trees, cushioned loungers and massage cabanas.
The area has proved so popular that there is now a nominal fee to use the space. The charge includes chilled face towels and Evian water atomizers dispensed by stewards. In addition, guests can order from a menu of healthy snacks, rent an MP3 player with relaxation music, or get a massage.
Weddings At Sea - The Princess Cruises Way
Because Princess ships are registered in Bermuda, weddings officiated by the captain onboard are legal. The onboard wedding chapels feature a Wedding Cam that carries the ceremony live on the Internet so that friends and family back home can view the event online. "Engagement Under the Stars" allows a groom-to-be to have a marriage proposal videotaped by one of the ship's videographers and then broadcast on the ship's giant outdoor movie screen on pool deck.
