Long famous Sabattini's is the Italian alternative dining venue, now revised to feature a la carte rather than family style dining.
A newer innovation is The Chef's Table. For a charge, up to 12 passengers enjoy an up-close look at a busy ship's galley that serves up to 3,000 dinners per night. Guests enjoy specially prepared appetizers, followed by a multicourse tasting menu at the executive chef's VIP table.
Enrichment & Entertainment
On a Princess cruise travelers can indulge in an array of engaging ScholarShip @ Sea opportunities. Each Princess cruise offers up to 40 classes onboard: from digital photography or computer use, to ceramics painting, culinary arts, wine tasting, and scrapbooking. Princess features guest lecturers who give talks on a variety of topics.
For the curious, Princess offers a fascinating “Ultimate Ship Tour,” an up-close look at what goes on behind the scenes in running a cruise ship, including backstage of the ship's theatre, the restaurant galleys and food storage rooms, and the engine control areas.
In addition to live stage shows, guests also can enjoy watching Movies Under the Stars. Grab a lounge chair and some popcorn, and enjoy a movie or concert film on the 300 square foot LED big screen poolside. (Other cruise lines are now copying the idea.)

Princess Youth and Teen Programs provide state-of-the-art youth center facilities and an array of activities to keep kids and teens entertained. Young passengers enjoy a wide range of fun events for ages 3 to 17, supervised by a dedicated staff of youth activity professionals. Each group features age-appropriate schedule, often with separate facilities.
There's Science on the Seas activities from the award-winning California Science Center, Yoga for Kids, and a Jr. CHEF@Sea program. Princess Cruises has also teamed with Klutz®, an innovative publisher of award-winning activity books for children, to provide high-quality arts and crafts projects for young passengers.
What About Privacy For Adults
With many families with children cruising the world, cruise lines have realized the need to create more private areas for adults. Princess Cruises has introduced the adults-only Sanctuary on select ships: an adults-only, quiet retreat populated with trees, cushioned loungers and massage cabanas. Ashore on Princess' private Caribbean island, bungalows and gourmet picnic's are available.
The area has proved so popular there is a nominal fee, and includes chilled face towels and Evian water atomizers dispensed by stewards. Guests can order healthy snacks or rent an MP3 player with relaxation music.
Weddings At Sea
Because Princess ships are registered in Bermuda, weddings officiated by the captain onboard are legal. The onboard wedding chapels feature a Wedding Cam that carries the ceremony live on the Internet so friends and family back home can view the event online. "Engagement Under the Stars" allows a groom-to-be to have a marriage proposal videotaped and broadcast on the ship's giant outdoor movie screen on pool deck.
