Crystal Cruise Accommodations
By the standards of most luxury cruises, Crystal's ships are large, but Crystal accommodates about 1,000 guests on ships other large cruise lines build for up to 3,000 passengers. Crystal's ships are as spacious, if not more so, than most other luxury cruise ships, providing lots of elbow room. Staterooms are elegantly appointed with plush bedding and marble-appointed bathrooms. Suite categories come with butler service.
Crystal Serenity & Crystal Symphony Dining
Exquisite dining is a hallmark of Crystal Cruises. Begining in 2011, Crystal offers flexible dining with either open seating by reservation or early or late fixed seating. Worth noting is Crystal Cruises only serves sustainable fresh seafood onboard -- the first cruise line to make such a commitment.
In addition to the main dining room, there are two excellent alternative dining restaurants. Prego, for fine Italian cuisine, features the menus of notable Los Angeles restaurant, Valentino's, rated one of the best in the city. Nobu (Crystal Serenity) and Silk Road (Crystal Symphony), feature the creations of Master Chef Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa, whose Nobu-trained chefs work in the restaurants. (A dinner here would easily fetch $250 in his restaurants ashore.)
Crystal Cruises also offers casual lunchtime meals poolside, as well as excellent buffet service for breakfast and lunch. Private gourmet meals paired with select (and in some cases very rare) wines are optionally offered in the Vintage Room.
A Day Aboard A Crystal Cruise
Crystal cruises includes complimentary non-alcoholic beverages and onboard activities such as yoga, cooking classes and wine tastings that many other lines charge for. Diverse engagement opportunities include taking courses from The Creative Learning Institute, which offers instruction from partners like Yamaha, Berlitz, Tai Chi Cultural Center, The Cleveland Clinic and The Society of Wine Educators.
A wide variety of computer classes and workshops are offered by Computer University @ Sea, featuring 32-inch LED screen iMac workstations, and include: Computers 101, Digital Photo Finishing, Creating Greeting Cards, Microsoft Office, Web Page Design and more.
Whether on a Crystal world cruise or shorter itinerary in the Mediterranean, Crystal is well-known for the incredible luxury found aboard their ships including the feng-shui-inspired spa.
